Known for our Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rhône varietals, each wine is crafted with meticulous care and an unwavering attention to detail.
Founded in 1981 by Holly and Henry Wendt, Quivira was born from a shared passion for the natural beauty and winemaking heritage of Dry Creek Valley. In 2006, Pete and Terri Kight took the reins, carrying forward a legacy of quality winegrowing and a steadfast commitment to organic farming practices.
For decades, Quivira has been dedicated to restoring Wine Creek, a vital waterway for Coho salmon and Steelhead trout that flows through our estate, merging with Dry Creek. We are also proud to care for a 150-year-old fig tree, a living testament to the vibrant ecosystem we cultivate here.
Our estate is more than just vineyards—it’s a sanctuary for biodiversity. Our lush gardens, teeming with life, promote environmental harmony through the natural cycles of composting and sustainable farming. With over 100 raised beds, we grow heirloom produce free of toxic chemicals, guided by the expertise of Humberto Garcia. We are also proud to collaborate with local Sonoma County restaurants, partner with the local food bank, and host farm-to-table dinners that showcase our garden-grown produce, estate olive oil, jams, and spices.

Quivira Winery is located on the 110-acre estate that is bisected by the Wine Creek; this life-giving water source is the namesake of our home ranch, Wine Creek Ranch. The soil deposited over thousands of years on the valley floor is primarily gravelly and sandy loam – deep, well drained and fertile dirt that produces good crops of flavorful grapes. With 59 acres planted to vines, Quivira Vineyards’ strives to be a leading producer of Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc and Rhône varieties, built upon intentional winegrowing and a thoughtful commitment to organic and Biodynamic farming.
Wine Creek Ranch’s estate Zinfandel is grown on hillside sites which are principally Dibble Clay Loam and Clough Gravelly Loam. The combination of fresh red fruit and spice is completely unique to Dry Creek.
The property’s Mediterranean climate and well-draining soils enable Rhône varieties to thrive. Quivira is at the forefront of blending Rhône varieties in Dry Creek and stands out from other New World products in the initial flavor profile. Our Rhône varieties—mainly Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre have grown only a couple of hundred yards apart from one another. This creates a synergy that is distinct to Wine Creek and optimized by our winegrowing partnerships.
