A Note from our Winemaker, Hugh Chappelle

      For our spring release we’re sticking with tradition and leading off with our new 2022 Wine Creek Ranch Rosé.  If you love Rosé you will surely enjoy this wine as it has everything one looks for in a great dry Rose, from the aromatics, to the flavors, to lower alcohol, to crisp refreshing acidity, it’s simply all there alongside our signature seamless balance.  We’re confident this Rosé will be one of our most successful vintages of the last 13 years!  

We decided to re-load the 2020 Alder Grove Sauvignon Blanc as it has evolved beautifully since it’s debut release in the October 2022 club shipment, blossoming in the both the nose and on the palate.  For lovers of our Sauvignon Blanc, we thought it important that you get to experience this.

Regarding reds, we’re showcasing two vintages of our Anderson Ranch Zinfandel side-by-side.  We find this comparison highly illustrative of the amazing terroir this site has for Zinfandel, and also clearly demonstrates that even in two critically acclaimed vintages (2018 and 2019) you can have notable vintage variation juxtaposed against a consistency of overall character coming from the vineyard.  We encourage you to try these wines side-by-side if you can, or just make note of your impressions.  This will be one the last offerings of the 2018 Anderson Ranch, as we’ll soon be fully transitioned to the ’19 in the Tasting Room, only holding back a little bit of the 2018 for later library release. 

Lastly, we’re presenting our 2019 Katz Vineyard Zinfandel, from vines planted in 1900, and now with almost 2 years of bottle age.  Due to the extreme scarcity of this wine, we’ve chosen to age it for you until we felt it was truly ready for release.
